Unlocking Level 50: The Quests
By GM Vyrien
The measure of strength varies with each passing day – what once was strong could be dead within days of battle in the Novus War. The power to adapt to one’s circumstances and environment is the key to survival in this world.
Those who reached level 50 rested safely on their laurels for the longest time as their race’s strongest combatants. However, the Crimson Dawn has come, and the limits of a soldier’s expertise have been expanded.
Be the first to reach the pinnacle of power, level 55, and bring down all who dare cross your path!
Quest 1: Kill 50 Calliana Archers
Map:
Location: Lure’s Lot
Target:
Calliana Archer
Reward:
Notes:
Calliana Archers can be dangerous for those who are not prepared. They can cast Sloth, a debuff that decreases your dodge and accuracy, and shoot Ice Arrows. On average, they can deal twice the damage of a regular Calliana Atrock. They have a high critical chance, so watch out. Getting hit by a critical strike will stun you, thus disabling your use of potions for a fraction of a second.
Callianas have the ability to heal themselves when low on health, so those who have low attack damage might have a hard time killing them quickly.
Warning – While hunting Calliana Archers in Ether, make sure you avoid the Pit Boss, the Calliana Princess. Do not attack her guards – they look like regular Callianas!

Location: Abandon Cave East (Giant Baba)
Target:
Great Curr
Giant Baba

Notes:
Elemental damage will greatly increase your damage against certain monsters. The Giant Baba and the Great Curr, in particular, are weak against Earth. Take advantage of this by upgrading your weapons with the Guard talic (obtainable from mined ore).
This quest is a party quest. All kills by party members will be counted towards your own kill counter.

This quest is a party quest. All kills by party members will be counted towards your own kill counter.
Warning – As you travel from Wild Eye to Queer Wood, you are bound to bump into the Pit Boss, Blink. Make sure that you take the necessary precautions. A stealth potion, purchased from the Item Mall, should be enough to get past it.
Alternatively, you can also just purchase a Blink Portal (called “Location Tracing Scroll[Blink]”) from the Item Mall to instantly teleport yourself to Blink’s spawn point. Combined with a stealth potion, this will allow you to bypass the long and dangerous path leading to the Turncoats. To access the Item Mall, just click on the “shop” icon at the lower right corner of your screen.

Notes:
This quest varies among races and classes. Listed above is a list of Turncoats found in Elan, and where they can be located.
The Devistator is capable of dealing massive damage. Separate one from the group and then focus all attacks to be efficient. Protect Potions that increase the user’s defense by 55% can be purchased from the Item Mall for 15 Game Cash or 0.75 pesos.
The Devistator’s “quest item” is not an item drop. It is gained randomly by killing Devistators. Every time a Devistator is killed by your party, there is a chance for your quest item counter to increase.
This quest is a party quest. All kills by party members will be counted towards your own kill counter. All kills of the Devistator has a chance of giving the quest item regardless of who made the last hit.
Quest 5: Kill 10 BigHornCarnival and 10 BlackDemolice
Map:
Hunter’s Forest
Targets:
BigHornCarnival
BlackDemolice
Reward:
Notes:
There are many ways to enter Beast Mountain. Fundamentally, land travel to Beast Mountain requires you to purchase a Black Sparking Stone and a Soul Flame Stone from the Mysterious Ore Vendor NPC (each stone costs 22 gold).
Black Sparking Stone
Soul Flame Stone
If you do not have gold, you can convert your currency to gold at the Coin Exchange NPC. Choose the Exchange option in the dialogue box that appears when you speak to the NPC to make the following window appear:
Click the left arrow on the slider bar at the bottom to set how much currency you want to convert into gold. Once finished, click the Exchange button. If you did it correctly, the following dialog will appear:
Once you have a Black Sparking Stone (to enter Cauldron) and a Soul Flame Stone (to enter Beast Mountain), you can now start traveling to Beast Mountain. First, you must head to Sette Desert, accessible through the main departure portal of your racial HQ.
Once at Sette Desert, head towards the yellow sword icon at the far left of the map, as shown below (boxed in green), then speak to the Gatekeeper NPC:
Click on “Move to Coldron Volcanic Area” to enter Cauldron. Once inside Cauldron, head towards the red portal icon at the bottom part of the map (boxed in green), then click on the “Beast’s Mountain” transfer button to enter Beast Mountain. The trip across Cauldron could prove dangerous, so a stealth potion, purchased from the Item Mall, should be very useful.
Cauldron and Sette are neutral zones – expect to encounter raiders from other races!
The other way (easier, but more expensive) is through a portal item, purchasable from the Mysterious Ore Vendor NPC, as shown below:
Once purchased, just right-click on the item, and you will be instantly teleported to Beast Mountain.
Since this quest is NOT a party quest, it would be advisable to have a rotation system when killing the monsters: simply alternate those who would do last hit on the monsters.
Quest 6: Kill 1 RedHairedSplinter
Map:
Darkness Forest or Dragon’s Grave
Targets:
RedHairedSplinter
Reward:
Notes:
Since this quest is NOT a party quest, it would be advisable to have a rotation system when killing the monsters: simply alternate those who would do last hit on the monsters.
The RedHairedSplinter is a strong monster, and rarely wanders alone. Be careful in luring one out. Protect Potions that increase the user’s defense by 55% can be purchased from the Item Mall for 15 Game Cash or 3 pesos.
Final Quest: Obtain 1 Seal of Blood, 1 Seal of Destruction, and 1 Seal of Soul
Map:
Dragon’s Grave
Targets:
Jewerly Cube
Lucky Box
Reward:
Notes:
The seals are random drops from the Jewerly Cubes and the Lucky Boxes. They will only respawn once every 1 hour, and will respawn randomly in a specific area (it will not appear in one place all the time). To fulfill your quest requirements, you must pick up the Seal item. You cannot finish the quest by trading the seals, or by having another player drop the seals.
Since Beast Mountain is filled with strong monsters, likely able to kill anyone but the strongest warriors in a few hits, the use of stealth potions is recommended when searching for the Jewerly Cubes or the Lucky Boxes. Stealth potions can be purchased from the Item Mall for 100 Game Cash, or 20 pesos. Just click on the “shop” icon at the lower right corner of your screen to open the Item Mall.
Jewerly Cubes and Lucky Boxes have specific spawn points, but are spread around the Beast Mountain map. Tip: There is a Jewerly Cube and a Lucky Box in the vicinity of the red arrow in the map image above.
